OP-art project

An effective and productive concrete program, initiated by Syofwatillah Mohzaib, a simple teacher who grew up in an environment full of social diseases due to economic tensions, Tanggo Buntung, Palembang, Indonesia, but is determined to change society and advance the environment to create a better life. Starting with inviting a group to gather to deal with the hereditary cultural heritage that is almost extinct, the typical Palembang wood carving art, to passing it on to the local younger generation in the form of training, which is enriched with religious recitation so that through stimulation it produces a work of art that is the only one in the world.
But this is not a narrow work of art but a spectacular masterpiece that can build society and improve the environment to improve the surrounding economy, this is realized by the establishment of the Bayt Al Quran Al Akbar museum and the IGM Al Ihsaniyah Islamic Boarding School which provide profitable work and business opportunities and improve the economy local residents as well as providing affordable, quality and productive education. In its development, the museum was visited by more than 75 countries so that it received recognition and appreciation by being declared the Largest Wood Carved Quran Mushaf by MURI in 2012, then in 2018 the museum which employs 37 local residents was named the Most Popular Halal Tourism Destination by Indonesian government.
The OP-art Project is an educational activity in the form of training in Palembang ethnic carving for local residents, especially action youth who do not have access to advancement because they live in underdeveloped areas, who then through this training become skilled and work-ready people. As a result, residents who were previously unemployed and accustomed to committing crimes have transformed into entangled artists who are able to generate income that can bring prosperity to their families, because this training was immediately followed by an offer to work on the largest wooden mushaf project of the Koran with Palembang ethnic carving art. This educational activity is very innovative so that it is able to make the process of transferring expertise and instilling spiritual values ​​as well as socializing universal norms which are packaged in the form of training activities for carving and working on Al-Quran mushaf projects which are very natural and relaxed but productive and economically profitable, not in the form of rigid and formal learning activities which are often only in the form of discourse. This turned out to make it easier for the participants to accept and participate actively even though they had a background in makeshift characters and abilities.

Furthermore, with the establishment of the Bayt Quran Museum and Islamic Boarding Schools attracting many visitors, the area is full of trades that offer lucrative and sustainable jobs. So that this environment receives more attention and priority from the local government in the form of road repairs and fulfillment of other public facilities so that this area can develop and eliminate social tensions, with the proof that the OP-art program has succeeded in transforming society and advancing the environment in a sustainable manner.
